state

Returns the game’s current state: the mode, whether it is paused, the area, the hero, the creature you control (controlled), the party’s leader (not always the one you control: a follower given control does not lead), the party and which members are selected in the party bar, the game’s message box if one is open (popup: its text and buttons), and the event cursor to pass as since to events or wait_for.

In combat with no hostile in sight, combatHold says why the game stays in combat: it leaves combat only once a living party member stands within 7.5 meters of each fallen one. It lists each fallen member with the nearest living one and how far away it is; walk one there.

Read-only: it changes nothing in the game.
